Abstract: Interdisciplinary and intersectoral collaboration requires trust, clear communication, and well designed processes that align participants’ motivations and support co-creation. A good facilitator works to deliver all of these elements, but historically the academic world has been slow to embrace facilitation as a key piece of the team science process. But that is changing. The more researchers reach out across boundaries, whether they be disciplinary or sectoral, the more collaboration support becomes essential. In this webinar, I’ll share my own journey from interdisciplinary researcher to research team leader to facilitator. I’ll share my experiences straddling the academic and private consulting spheres and talk about different business models for facilitation services that are available today. Finally, I will talk about training and career opportunities for facilitators in this space. Prepare for a lively and interactive webinar with time for small group discussion and Q&A.
