Description: Integration is widely regarded as both the key feature and the core challenge of inter- and trans-disciplinary research. Connotating both the process and the result of creating a coherent and consistent whole, integration is often considered critical to its success (or failure). Given its importance, we focus on emergence of a new profession of integration experts and related expertise in leading processes of cognitive, social and affective integration within inter- and transdisciplinary research. This new profession is not yet fully established within the academic system. Therefore, in order to develop and promote this new profession, we will present an overview of current efforts among various groups, in addition to INTEREACH, with the additional aim of combining forces within a working group on integration experts/expertise to advance shared goals under the auspice of the new international ITD Alliance. The webinar will cover key objectives and core activities of related efforts in Intereach and the Alliance working group in order to strengthening expertise in inter- and trans-disciplinary integration while advancing related academic positions.
