Writing Management Plans for Team Science Proposals

Description: In the 20 years since the NSF announced its first formal convergent science initiative, research on team science and practical experience administering inter- and transdisciplinary projects has produced a set of best practices. Unfortunately, many PIs have no idea what these are or how to implement them. They all know that great science is key to funding their project, but few recognize that even the best science won’t be funded if the sponsor questions the team’s management capacity.

We’ll cover two aspects of supporting large team science proposal: how to inculcate a new attitude; and how to provide blueprints for management systems and structures.  Be prepared to share examples from your own institutions.
