Integration in Action: Enhancing Team Science Through Collaborative Practices

Description: Integration is not merely a function of collaboration but a distinct, dynamic process that synthesizes diverse knowledge, methodologies, and concepts to drive success. In this presentation, Dr. Cuddy will explore the critical role of integration in advancing team science, highlighting its significance for team effectiveness in interdisciplinary research teams. She will discuss the internal and external factors that influence integration, examining how these elements can both facilitate and hinder integration. Drawing on insights from her research on interdisciplinary academic STEMM teams, she will discuss how effective integration is enacted in academic STEMM teams,  emphasizing the importance of social integration and intentional practices. Strategies for enhancing integration, including using “integration conductors” and team coaches, will also be discussed.
