Description: Those in the administrative space of transdisciplinary science and convergence research are the "boots on the ground" for implementing integration practices. This requires constant awareness and assessment of how those practices are working, and knowing when to pivot to other methods. For this webinar we have invited a distinguished panel of individuals who work in this administrative space of inter- and transdisciplinary teamwork. Dr. Jason Owen-Smith, co-founder and Executive Director of the Institute for Research on Innovation and Science (IRIS); Dr. Levent Atici, Associate Vice Provost for Student-Centered Interdisciplinary Initiatives at North Carolina State University; and Dr. Maude Cuchiara, Managing Director of the Science and Technology for Phosphorus Sustainability (STEPS) Center will each provide a lightning talk about their unique roles, how integration supports success, methods they use, and how they gauge when it's working (or when it might not be working). An inter-panel discussion and Q&A will follow.
Speakers:
Levent Atici - North Carolina State University
Maude Cuchiara - Science and Technology for Phosphorus Sustainability (STEPS) Center, North Carolina State University
Jason Owen-Smith - Institute for Research on Innovation and Science (IRIS), Michigan State University
