Wrapping up the Spring 2019 series, this webinar will be feature Dr Tom Fleischner, Executive Director of the Natural History Institute and Faculty Emeritus at Prescott College. Dr Fleischner’s career has deep roots in natural history, ecology and conservation biology, but plies the terrain at the margins of disciplines. He is most interested in the connections between the sciences, humanities and public policy. He is the founding Executive Director of the Natural History Institute, a non-profit dedicated to engaging the next generation of naturalists to reunite science, humanities and art in the practice of natural history. In his presentation he will share his experience doing transdisciplinary research in a non-profit setting, offer insights into best practices for collaborations between academics and non-profits, community groups and local stakeholders.
